Does it work for invoices too, not just receipts?

Yes. You can switch the document type to Receipt, Invoice, Quote, or Sales Order in the Details step.

Can I edit the Word file after downloading?

Yes — the Word download is a standard .doc file you can open in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages, or LibreOffice.
